Arrest Record Deleted for Professional

Our client, a busy professional, had been accused of assault in the context of a neighbour dispute. There had been a going dispute between the client and the complainant; the complainant made a fabricated allegation to the police which precipitated the arrest of our client.

Our client had never been in trouble before and had a long and distinguished career. He was held overnight in police custody, and after being interviewed, the case was dropped by the police.

As our client had been arrested, his details had been added to the Police National Computer (PNC), and also the Police National Database (PND), his biometric data had also been taken. Our client was concerned that these details might be disclosed on an enhanced DBS check and so instructed us to apply for their deletion.

After reviewing the client’s case we applied for the deletion of the PNC record, and after a a relatively brief period of time, the police agreed to the complete expungement of the PNC record, biometric data, and the custody photograph that was taken of our client. We have now separately applied for the deletion of the PND records.
