Our client received a police caution for the possession of drugs, both cannabis and cocaine.

The client was a successful professional and had been offered an excellent job opportunity in the United States of America. The client was also engaged to be married to a US citizen and so wanted to apply for US citizenship.

As the client’s caution was for possession of cocaine he was ineligible for a US Green Card. He would only be able to take up the job offer, get married, and settle down in the US if his caution was removed.

Our client had been issued a public order caution, the caution had been originally issued in relation to an alleged disorder at the client’s home.

A neighbour had called the police upon hearing a disturbance at the client’s home. When the police attended, an argument broke out between our client and the police, which resulted in our client’s arrest and detention.

Our client had been arrested following on from a domestic argument with her husband.

Our client had been issued with a caution for being illegally in possession of a pepper spray. The client was an international student and originated from a country where pepper spray was legal and widely available.

The client had been in the UK for a number of years and had always had the pepper spray in her possession, and had frequently traveled through Customs into the UK carrying the spray in her hand luggage. On no previous occasion had the client been questioned about the pepper spray, and was completely unaware that it was illegal.

The client was stopped during a routine search into an official premise, whereupon the spray was discovered. The police were quickly summoned, and very shortly afterwards a police caution was issued.

As the client hoped to work in a regulated environment, and had spent many years studying towards this goal, the imposition of the caution would have been extremely detrimental to her career.
